Monica’s Code Red Album Cover Revealed

Monica

Monica is ready to serenade our radio speakers again with a new album on the horizon and a look that takes us back to the “Don’t Take It Personal” singer we all came to love. She opened up to People Magazine about her short red do for her Code Red album cover:

-“The cut symbolizes me getting back to the fearlessness and courageous part of myself that I shared with the world in the ’90s when I released my first album ‘Miss Thang. It’s easy to over-think things and not trust your natural instincts. I let go and let the music be created in my truth.”

-“I love that the cover speaks to how I feel as a woman, artist, mother and wife. I feel strong, encouraged and grateful. I also love that it’s fashion forward.”

-“It’s been a fun journey and it’s awesome to look back at all of my many style changes over 20 years.”

Code Red will be Monica’s eighth studio album. A release date has yet to be set but we will all be patiently waiting for that voice the music industry has been missing since her last album in 2012.

NEW MUSIC: ERICA CAMPBELL FT. JONATHAN MCREYNOLDS “ALL I NEED IS YOU REMIX”

Grammy-award winning vocalist and one half of the gospel duo Mary Mary, Erica Campbell is back on your radio with hot, new music and she brought a friend along for the ride. On March 31st Erica released Help 2.0 the follow up to her debut solo album Help with new and remixed songs. She remixed her beautiful record “All I  Need Is You” with rising gospel star Jonathan McReynolds.

In a behind-the-scenes video of the making of this record Erica opens up:

“All I Need Is You was written when I was driving down the 110 Freeway and I was pretty stressed out and I had a whole lot of questions and it was a pretty doubtful day and so I had to remind myself that if I had God it is enough.”

I am so excited that Jonathan McReynolds has hopped on this remix. Jonathan’s neo-soul infused vocals have been flooding my Pandora radio lately and I am pleased with what I hear. He has a soft, comforting range that is sure to take both the gospel airwaves and mainstream by storm.

Take a look at the making of the record below and check out Erica’s latest video which features cameos from her big family including her Mama Thomasina “Honey” Atkins, sister Alana Atkins and her husband, and dem babies of her’s.

Help 2.0 is now available on iTunes.
