NEW MUSIC: JANET JACKSON ‘NO SLEEEP’

Janet Jackson released her new single, “No Sleeep” by way of Twitter when the clock struck 12 (EST) this morning. The record is produced by her longtime production crew Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. They knew exactly what they were doing allowing Ms. Jackson to take a hiatus and come back with a classic Janet tune music needs today.

“No Sleeep” is not an attempt to keep up with the latest trends on radio but rather a success at taking us back to the sounds we fell in love with in the 90’s from the sweet voice that is Janet’s. With rain drops in the background and her signature giggles over the beat, we are complete.

You missing me/I’m missing you/Whenever we meet/We ain’t gonna get no sleep

When I get to be together with you/Yes we are complete/We ain’t gonna get no sleep

NEW MUSIC: JAMIE FOXX “BABY’S IN LOVE” + Explains Star Spangled Banner Fiasco

Fresh off his ridiculed Star Spangled Banner performance at the Money Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao fight, Jamie Foxx drops his new record, “Baby’s in Love.” The song will appear on his upcoming album Hollywood: A Story of a Dozen Roses to drop May 22nd.

Jamie also sat with Ellen to discuss the fiasco behind his highly criticized performance this past weekend.

“Anytime a black person sings the national anthem, you know we gotta ‘ooooo saayyyy can youuu’ [dramatized harmonies] but what did happen in the ring my ears came out, my inner ears. My inner ears were out and I’m singing with an organ so I can’t hear what the organ was doing with the big crowd so some of it was a little off. But…in the arena it killed, the telecast was a little off but we still love America.”

I honestly didn’t think it was as bad as a lot of others I have heard. You know no one can just sing the Star Spangled Banner the way it was originally recorded. Too easy. Check out the videos below!

NEW MUSIC: Tamia “Sandwich and a Soda” [VIDEO]

After a three-year hiatus (it feels much longer), Tamia returns with a new record that shows she is changing with the times. She dropped the visual for her single, “Sandwich and a Soda,” a song very mainstream with racy lyrics and a pop feel pulling away from the classic R&B we are used to from the wife of NBA legend Grant Hill.
